About This Spot
Outpost BBQ at the Kerhonkytonk Roadhouse feels like a treasured hideaway on a lively country road, where the hum of conversation blends effortlessly with the scent of wood-smoked barbecue. As you step inside this unpretentious spot, the atmosphere settles into an easy rhythm—warm, relaxed, and decidedly welcoming. The space invites you to take a breath, slow down, and share a genuine meal with friends old and new.
Here, the pace is casual but attentive, striking a balance between the friendly buzz of a local gathering place and the calm comfort of a well-loved retreat. The genuine smiles from the staff and the laid-back charm of the surroundings invite a familiarity that feels deeply personal, like stopping by a friend’s weekend haunt after a long day outdoors.
The menu is a hearty celebration of classic barbecue flavors, where each plate embraces a sense of homecoming. Whether it’s the tender brisket, pulled pork with just the right smoky edge, or the comforting richness of mac and cheese paired with cornbread, every bite reflects thoughtful, no-fuss craftsmanship. The dishes are generous and satisfying, offering moments of pure, simple joy — the kind that makes you forget about the hours spent hitting the road to get here.
There’s an unspoken community feel that threads through the dining room, palpable in shared laughter, the clinking of glasses filled with local ales and well-curated beverage options, and the warm exchange between server and guest that goes beyond transaction into genuine connection. Visitors often leave feeling more like they’ve rekindled ties with something genuine—family-level hospitality wrapped in the nostalgia of Southern comfort food, set against the rugged charm of Kerhonkson.

Food was amazing! I didn't think I was going to finish my brisket sandwich with fries, but after stretching a little I was able to get the last few bites in. Everyone must check it out!

I absolutely LOVE this place. When I traveled out there on the weekends 6 hours away from home I would always make a pit stop or 2 here. My favorite is the brisket and chicken combo, Mac and cheese with greens and cornbread. So yummy. Reminds me of home Southern cooking. And the regular bbq sauce is finger licking good.

This is my favorite kind of joint. Great food, super attentive service. I wish it was local to me. But it's just one of those places you stop into when you're traveling any hungry. I can't remember the servers name, but she was really sweet. Gave us family level personal service... Like we had stopped over at an aunts house.... She gave us motorcycle maps and sat down with us to chat while we ate. The ribs were crazy good. You just poke the bone, and it slips out. The dry rubbed ribs left are like brisket. Next year's ride will be planned to include a visit to this place. 12 stars!

Stopped in here after visiting a local nursery. Food was really tasty and generous portions (especially the onion rings). We had the fried chicken sandwich (reminded me of a pork tenderloin sandwich with the chicken pounded flat) and my wife had the brisket sandwich (a bit more lean than she likes but still really good). Staff and waitress was really nice and attentive

Every time we’ve tried to go here it would be closed. After a hike, we passed by and it was open! We decided to go inside and try a few things. Everything was delicious. I loved that the chicken sandwich came with cucumber slices not pickles. The corn fritters came with a ranch sauce that I could not get enough of. I even dipped my Mac and cheese in it. Our order was a bit pricey but we did get some extra fries, a drink, and corn fritters. We will be back to try other things on the menu.

I ordered brisket with fries and coleslaw. The meat was tender and flavorful, and the sides were fresh and crispy. The service was pleasant and quick. Overall, I was satisfied.

We attended their car show, the property itself is absolutely beautiful for being right on route 209. Ashamed to say our family just ate their for the very 1st time last weekend and im totally kicking myself in the ass, because the BBQ PLATTERS were not only phenomenal in flavor, that chicken and brisket literally melted in your mouth it was so incredibly smooth and moist. The perfect ratio!! Best part for just 25bucks I highly recommend their platters as it comes with an option of brisket & chicken or rib & chicken plus choice of 2 sides from many unique amd delicious side dishes & don't forget your corn bread! That platter seemed as if it would feed a couple, but my platter fed myself, my 10yr old my 6 yr oldn & my 3 yr old! Has become our new fave place & we have slim pickings out here as far as restaurants and deli lol
